Kealanohea
I am inspired by nature and anything reminiscent of the old ways. I
look for simple, practical~ all of which our mothers and the grandmothers before us had sewn. Comfort.
I began creating at a very early age. I made my own clothes, curtains, linens and jewelry... I
was really picky. It had to be a fabric or gem I liked,
coordination I liked, and the quality... well, that was just the beginning. My pickiness turned into a business and Mongo's came into being. Wehilani is
everything I envision that is comfortable and carefree. The Kuuipo, a basic design emanating from grandmothers
indigenous to Hawaii, is brought to contemporary form. Colorful prints and cotton batik gives you that
island flavor... along with a hint of the 60's, reminiscent of a carefree lifestyle.

Kai Hoku is a representation
of everything I love about the sea.
Powerful. Spiritual.
It draws upon my senses as the visions come to me. My pieces are out-of-the-box
and different, somewhat like me.

Hawaii Artisans Alliance My success
has been attributed to Marilyn and Nancy, and all of the Artisans who shared their experiences as entrepreneurs. They
helped me grow without the disappointments, expand to
new forums, and led me to a path that was far more easier than theirs. Without their guidance and
support, the road would have been much longer. Thank
you for your love and helping me along the way. Mahalo ke Akua (thank you God), for always being there!
